I love that bike in particular and that type of bike in general. However, someone said that the best bike is a well built race bike or something so now I don't yearn for them anymore, atmo.

Just 'cause someone sez so doesn't make it so. A well built race bike absolutely sucks as a utility bike for carrying heavy loads (e.g., like a porteur) and as a touring bike intended to carry 30-40lb of luggage. The fact that someone thinks so merely demonstrates the narrowness of their vision.

What do you believe "absolutely sucks" is like?
Can you describe "sucklike" characteristics?
And what do you base that on?

I could not tell, are there downtube shifters? I would also like a closer look at that stem, looks interesting.

Oh, I think you may have a point there. The last time someone told me to jump off a cliff I did but I didn´t like it, atmo. Hmmm....
