How fast can you change all four tires and gas up?

Is 1.92 seconds fast?

No refueling during an F1 pit stop. Tires only.

Reminds me. I need to have my timing belt replaced. How long would it take them?

Being formula 1, the timing belt would have to be produced in house. First would be the design phase, then they would have to create a test phase that skirts all the rules for unsanctioned testing. Next up, the design and build of the production facility. Finally, a little payola to Bernie to not change the rules about timing belts. Last but not least, the installation. 5 years

The job will take them about 20 minutes but the flat rate manual will allow 4 hours labor charge.

.. and a five grid spot penalty because the timing belt is hidden in the transmission.

Looks like a single bolt holding the wheel on, and some kind of pressfit mounting system that requires no follow up bolt tightening. Sound about right? I didn't see any tightening of the new wheel - they just jammed it on hard and some type of engagement system locked it in.

But wow, how many F1 pit members does it take to change a light bulb? Or a set of 4 tires? I didn't count, but there must've been at least 13 there - three per wheel plus the jack guy. Or more. Is there a limit to how many crew members a car can have?

Bet their billable rate to change all 4 of those tires, even at 1.9 seconds, is way way more than what your local dealer charges. One of those tires is probably worth what my whole car is worth.

How it works
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/108724

In order to control testing, tires are only loaned to the team basically

In the old days team would test like crazy and a team like ferrari could test you to death as they had a practice track at marinello. This supposedly levels the field for the little guy
