Maxxis Re-Fuse Tubeless

I am wondering how the Maxxis Re-Fuse Tubeless 700x40 measures up. From pictures I have seen they don't appear to be a true 40mm width. Can anyone confirm an actual measurement?

I have a Gunnar Sport with mid reach brakes and I am looking at these tires in the 40mm or 32mm width. I was also thinking of the Jon Bon's but may want a little more durability since I will be riding these on gravel roads in the middle of the Black Hills in pretty remote areas e.g. no cars or cell phone reception.

I have fit Jack Browns on my bike, but don't know if I have much more room so I don't know if the 40s would work, so likley will go with the 32s.
