OT: The Green Fields of the Mind
I was driving home from work yesterday morning after a simple change became an all nighter stress fest. In at 22:00, out at 11:30... and whoever deleted the APPC LU so the sorter cameras wouldn't work is feeling my ire this morning. There's a reason we're anal about the process of backing up your **** when you make changes.
So I'm driving with NPR on and they're reading baseball stories and the last one they do is "The Green Fields of the Mind" read by Bart Giamatti himself, back before he died. Hearing the author read it when I was all tired was a good experience. I'd read it years ago and I'm going to get that book down and read it again myself in a couple of days, it's worth it. "Mutability always wins, turning Hope into Memory." If it's not too much trouble, you should find and read the story. It's pretty good.
