Looking for rollers...

Had some spinal surgery (discectomy and laminectomy of L5 & S1)last year and slowly built up the nerve to jump on my rowing machine again. Felt great in the short term, but definitely caused the nerve flare-up that was the precursor to the major problems.
Posted the rower for sale last night, sold this morning.

Thinking of doing some indoor riding again...but thinking I'd like to try rollers.
I was initially thinking I'd look for some 3" Kreitlers, but have now read a little more about E-Motion and Tru-Trainer.

Any chance anyone in the Northeast has something they're looking to get rid of? PM or reply if you have something.
Advice is appreciated, too.

If you can swing a set of Tru Trainers you will not be disappointed. As a long time roller user (Benotto, all Kreitler versions, Inside Ride over the years), TTs tower over all of them.

Good luck with the hunt.

eBay. Kreitler rollers are always coming up for auction and can be had for much less than retail. You just need patience.

There are other brands which use quality 3" drums and should be considered as well, but if you can get Kreitlers, do it. First that comes to mind are the new Kurt Kinetic rollers. I think Kurt licensed the design from someone else, but Kurt offers an exceptional warranty which tells me they have confidence in the design.

3" drums are definitely the best choice as they provide a measure of resistance so you don't run out of gears, yet you can still shift down for an easy spin.

I have the TruTrainer rollers. I would not recommend these if you have to carry them any distance. They are heavy at 35lbs. and I have to carry them a couple hundred yards and up/down stairs to use them; it's a hassle. Other than that, they are incredible. The fact that they position the bike level to the ground unlike other rollers means riding the drops is a bit more comfortable. Very easy to stand up while riding. I wouldn't bother buying the flywheel quick release feature; I never use it-if you want an easy spin session, just use lower gears.
