Big Fix X big Ride of Silence

June 2016
West Coast
Week of riding to honor our fellow cyclists
killed on the road-by cars
Big Fix 2006 was a cross country fixed gear
ride I organized for my daughter's illness
Peter B joined us-partially
My daughter is now better so it is time for
a new cause. I will partner with rideofsilence.org
Stay tuned!

Not sure what you are asking or telling us about in your OP.
We have a yearly local ride of silence for riders killed in our area recent and remote. The ride is minimalist, organic and rides very slowly through town. We only speak the names of those lost at the start of the ride.

This is a bigger benefit ride
To raise $ and awareness
And maybe help families of victims
Hope to raise $200k, at least

Great post when you have more clarity as to who it benefits, what the ride is, what donations you are looking for, in other words more info. All we have are generalizations

ROS benefits
They may choose to help families of victims,
expand their operation, raise their national
profile
I will leave it up to them-with some gentle
suggestions. We are already talking about it,
when we need more--riders, donations,
etc. I will let you all know
Tenative specifics:
7-8 day ride in Montana or Pacific Nortwest
Full sag
$1000 dollar fundraising minimum per rider
Likely cap ride at 100
Families of victims ride for free
I have some industry connections, but welcome
more participation.
In 2006 and 2009--Big Fix and Wheels
North--we had Sachs help
Also in 2006--Bell Helmets, Jonny Kendziera,
Phil Wood, Hutchinson tires,Surly, ClifBar,
Cytomax, Kogswell Cycles, and Velocity rims.
They all donated product--either to ride,
as raffle items, or as incentive prizes for
riders who raised a lot of $$-like first to
1k, 2k
All I ask now is to spread the word
Even tho ride is 2 years away, this is a
Big Ride--to honor our fellow cyclists
who died, and their families
I know this community will help immensely
Dennis and Fixed Gear gallery folks were
huge in both rides
This won't be purely fixed gear, or Silent
except for first 5" of each day
Thanks to all
PM if you want to help, or have suggestions
Mojo

Our ride here in Davis has grown
From 30 2 years ago, to 90 this year
I think finding 100 riders in U.S. to commit
Should be easy
Thanks for response
