FS: Dura Ace 7700 Group

SOLD: Dura Ace 7700 Group: $350

A full group except for the chain. The components are in good to excellent condition and are nice and clean. The group includes:

1) Shifters: good condition with normal wear and tear
2) Crankset: 170mm 39x53 This is in very good to excellent condition. Was bought about 4 months ago in NOS condition to replace my old 7700 cranks. finish is great with only a few small wear marks and the chainrings have barely any wear. Probably the most beautiful cranks Shimano ever made...
3) BB-6800 bottom bracket: In very good shape.
4) Front derailleur: braze on, in good shape.
5) Rear Derailleur: in very good shape.
7) Brakes: in very good shape, with new Swiss Stop pads included
7) Two (2) 12-25 9-speed cassettes, one in fair shape and the other in good condition.

$350 for the whole set, including shipping.

believe me i'd still have 9 spd 7700 on a couple bikes if replacement pieces weren't so darned expensive. it's only reason i moved to 7800 and now the more recent shimano stuff.

i had a bike with 7700 that i rode the hell out of for a decade, rarely adjusted it, and hosed it down regularly for cleaning. had one bottom bracket run just fine for thousands of miles. shifted like buttah (just like 7800, basically). it is a really, really well made group. the drivetrain of 9 spd, i think, allowed for far more wiggle room than the tight tolerances required of 10 and now 11 spd. no room for error with the modern stuff.

Agreed. I've ridden second hand 7700 for the past few years. NEVER derailed. Friends on 10 sp groups shift the 7700's and were astonished how smooth they were. Other than having to replace the innards for the left shift lever, it's been solid and reliable. If it had the modern convenience of adjustable lever reach (SRAM) I'd keep the group.

Switching to Force I've done some research/upgrades to the chainrings, FD, and chain to make sure it shifts just as reliable as 7700.
