Campy 11 crank on a 10 speed drive train
I think this can be done, but would appreciate confirmation.
I'd like to use a Campy 11 Athena crankset on my otherwise vampy 10 speed drive train. Will a 10 or 11 speed chain work best? Thanks -Steve |

It should work just fine.

I have a Chorus 11 crank on a Record/Chorus 10 drivetrain. I use a KMC 10 speed chain, and it all works perfectly.

You'll be fine.

Yes. I used an Athena ultratorque 11 speed crankset on my otherwise all Campy 10 speed drivetrain. Worked just fine with Campy 10 speed chain.

always match the chain to the rear cogset. 11-speed crank will work fine. you're not alone, many campy 10 users running a nice alloy athena crank on their rigs, me included. no worries.

Like everyone has said, it works perfectly. Match the chain to the cassette. I have been running a bike with the same setup for 4 years.

Quote:
MATCH the chain to the cogset, NOT the chainring. A 11s chain onto 10s system won't shift worth a dern.
