Wow, 17 years ago, time sure flies when you are having fun.
I was still in construction and about 20 + lbs heavier ( the guy on the left).
Just so you know there is life after work.

That would have been about a year after I stopped by the factory and picked up my Off Road and matching Mag 21.

How long did Trek continue to sell frames made in Santa Cruz? Were they sold as Treks or Bontragers?

The kept the SC shop open about 1.5 years after they bought the company.

Trek had a pile of racelites when they closed the factory.

Yeah, I thought about buying a few of them... you could get a fully built Race Lite w/ XT and Judy fork for about $850.00 - or 1/3rd MSRP!

I am still kicking myself for not getting at least one of them.

Cheers,
KP

Kirk,I know you worked with the Schwinn Paramounts, do you have insight into the Yeti Homegrowns?
My 1998 Homegrown is still my go to HT mountain bike.

To the best of my knowledge those bikes were built by Yeti. Though some may have been built by SAPA too.

Kirk I just read a blurb about you doing the producing of EE cranks. Care to elaborate? Some of the early photos that Fariwheel wrote about looked pretty darned cool. What kind of chainring compatibility will they have? Any chance of doing 'em in silver, anodized or polished?

We'll have more details in 5-6 weeks.

So much for 'off the record.'

Saw that earlier. I'd love to say 'I'm the market for that' but I'm too broke to pay ...hey look! A chicken!
