FS: Campy Shamal 12-HPW clinchers

Hi. I'm selling an excellent-shape pair of Campy Shamal clinchers, 12-HPW Titanuim model w/ polished Record hubs. They have been ridden very sparingly, are dead true and spin perfectly. Skewers and 8-speed 12-21 cassette included. Get your hands on this rare and highly sought-after wheelset! Price $750 + shipping, or local pickup in Brooklyn.

Here's a pic of how these gorgeous hubs look in the daylight (not my pic):

These work on 8,9, or 10-speed, actually. I'm not sure whether or not they will accommodate 11-speed.

According to the grand poobah of Campy (oldpotatoe), among other sources, the 8S freehub body doesn't take 10S cassettes. Regardless, those wheels are the jam.

You can change the freehub. There were several sets riding around on 10-11 speed drivetrains in San Diego.

I thought if you could run 9, you could run 10, but 8 speed bodies don't take 9 or 10 from my experience. Does it have the stepped "notch" on the body?

No mas...those FHs were made in 1997/8, for the non oversized steel and yi axles of the day..

For the guy that says somebody rides these with 10s..then the FH is silver, aluminum and isn't 8s..

I'll have to ask him, I could've sworn they were the Titanium version though. If one can somehow source a freehub from 97/98, it's doable then? Thx.

good luck with that.

You have a very nice set of wheels, but trying to find that fh, you will spend more on the fh than the wheels!

Haha. Well, I want to sell them, not keep them for my 10-speed Campy bike, so I doubt I will. I just figured someone else might have the same intent.
