Ever Try a Passoni?
Those EICMA pics introduced me to a new ti bike company.
http://www.passoni.com/index.html Has anybody tried any of these frames? They look nice to me. I wonder how they ride compared to the ottrott. I'd also be curious how the TBO model compares to a full carbon frame since its basically all carbon. I can't find the price either on the site. |

They've been around for a while - I recall a Bicycling or Bicycle Guide review of one of their ti bikes many years ago - at least 10. It had an all-ti fork too.

I was just curious how all these ti/carbon bikes faired against each other. I have no idea if the carbon used by this company is up to par or not.

Passoni
Back when Ti was the rage, Passoni made a number of frames for pro racers. Their niche has always been custom made, top quality work with a price to match. As I recall, a full custom ti frame back in the early 90's was about $5k.

IIRC Passoni used to make ti bikes with ti forks and one-piece ti bar-stem combos. Complete bikes were in the neighborhood of $10K, when you could buy a full-dress Legend ti (or whatever it was called in those days) for well under $5K.

Here's one from 98 that went on ebay recently. Check out the bar stem combo, internal brake and shifter cable routing, and the other neat bits...
