Tacks

Seems Central Park isn't the only place. It appears some "fans" threw some tacks on the road in today's stage. Nice.

I had this exact problem on a commuter trail for about six months a couple of years ago. A never identified miscreant dropping carpet tacks every week and puncturing many tires. It became very tiresome INDEED.

Pierre Rolland needs a talking to.

The same thing happened around here:

They even have a suspect:

It's sad because I don't think many of the trail users can fix a flat on their own.

Clearly Cadel jumped off his bike at the top of the climb and yelled to Tejay 'a tack' and so he did.

D'oh.

Yeah, Tejay was definitely on the defensive in the post-race interview. But it must be frustrating to have to ride for someone who almost certainly doesn't have the legs to win the race and may not even make the podium.

Last year on the Seattle to Portland ride someone threw down a bunch of tacks on HWY 30 around St. Helens, OR. I guess blowing by at 60mph and brazing arm hairs wasn't enough for them. Someone was even knocken unconcious.

Story Here http://www.oregonlive.com/news/index.../post_121.html

I think it is Guerrilla marketing from Stan's No Tubes and Hutchinson tires....

in all seriousness, it sucks, I hope they catch the criminals who did this.

just happy to see it was on a climb...imagine the carnage if they had hit those tacks on the descent...

the teejay "a-tack" joke also made me chuckle, best one liner I've heard in awhile haha.
