From the Classified forum to my son

My 18 year old son has been doing triathlons for 2 or 3 years now and has enjoyed some success; he qualified for the age group national championships in Burlington, Vermont this coming August and we're going. He had been riding a 10 year old Specialized Allez Sport that started off as Mrs. Gadget's bike and has slowly been upgraded and converted to a tri bike over the last couple years.

A major upgrade was the purchase of Riders120's Felt B2 frameset a couple weeks ago. After transferring everything over to the new frameset, I brought my son's new ride home last night.

It's primarily Ultegra 9 speed with a couple Dura Ace pieces thrown in; Easton stem and wheels; Profile Designs bars and brake levers. She weighs 18.76 pounds as shown in the photos.

Riders120, my son and I thank you!

Congrats to your son.

They are great bicycles, aren't they!

My wife raced on a Felt b2 until this year.

She really loved the bike, as she felt she was never limited by the machine.

Her average speed went up by 1 full mph right after we picked up the bike for her.

Placebo or the bike?

Didn't matter, as she thought she would be faster, so she was.

Good luck to your son.

The EA-50s are new, but faster wheels are on the list. I will probably rent some serious race wheels for Nationals.

I was in Burlington today visiting (UVM alum) and dropped by the BikeRack on State St. It had some zipp 808 demo/rental wheels if you want to avoid transporting gear.
