Silver rims, black spokes?

... for a classic lugged steel. I know I want silver rims and White Industries hubs in silver. I know the rules say silver spokes but black could be a bit different eh?

What do you think? Care to share pictures if you did it?

Cheers!

Philippe.

Had them on my CX I sold, Chorus 9S hubs, silver Mavic OP's, black DT spokes. Not the huge contrast you'd expect.

You can't kinda do Johnny Cash, its gotta be all black. That being said I prefer all silver for wheels.

On August 20, 1979, Terrell made his pitching debut for the Royals in the ninth inning against the New York Yankees at Royals Stadium, and retired the Yankees on three pitches; the Yankees were ahead 16–4 at the time and Terrell hurled on an emergency basis

I have a set of Campy/Mavic T520 with black spokes.

I think that they work on some builds and some not as much. Here is what they looked like on my old Club Special that has made the rounds since I had it.

In such things your view is all that matters...but since you're asking for opinions...I'd never let that on my bike.

Awesome rides, no matter the wheels. I think you're right and it all depends on the build or should I say the color of the bike. It looks great on the white Waterford. On the Serotta they're nice too but less striking. Thanks a lot for the pics!
