The tip of your puller appears large (?); it should fit within the square of the taper end.

Yeah remove the little circle thing at the end of your puller and it should work

Take a break. Eat some lunch. Get ready to use your muscles. It’ll be tight. But it’ll come out. Don’t do it frustrated or you’re gonna end up messing something up.

And first and foremost. Make sure the crank puller is on there all the way or you’ll strip the threads. Not like hand tight, use a wrench and put it on there all the way

Even if it being on a shimano bb is making the take off difficult your alternative is to leave the crank on the frame forever. It must be done

yes i pulled the puller tight with the wrench. will soak it in some wd40. try it again later / tomorrow.

and yes. this crankset must leave the frame! must be done. can't stay on there forever

Just to be clear:. The puller threads on to the crank arm and is tighten down firmly--while the center section of the puller is still loose and can be turned with your fingers--then the center section is screwed down and force applied.

(Sorry if this is obvious and you have already have it covered. I use these steps every time I pull an arm.)

Sometimes the center section will hang up on an edge the square opening and then once loose, screw down on to the end of the spindle. As you apply full force nothing happens until there's a slight give and the arm comes free.

only one of the reasons i dislike campa and hate working on it. you always need special equipment and they seem to switch their standards around a lot.
hmm, but ya hate workin' on Campagnolo already. Guess you don't need a 'special Campagnolo' tool afterall..for that era, what Campagnolo specific tools do you need?

BTW-if ya sell that thing make sure the buyer knows it was smashed onto a JIS/shimano taper BB..not the correct one...a ISO taper, like ya know, some Suntour and many other brands.

just as i thought that i finally made progress....

had the thing now soaking in wd40 for about 4 days.

started to work on it again. it's not my first time removing a crank. but i double checked that i did it the right way. screwed the first nut tight, the second one was still loose and far enough out.

is it possible the crank has gotten fused to the BB somehow?!

Dang! How does the tip of your puller engage the bottom bracket spindle? Can you extend the center of the puller, hold it to the bottom bracket spindle, and see the engagement? If it cleanly presses against the square of the taper end, then I don't know.

If somebody really smanged those cranks onto the spindle, the aluminum is soft and deforms. Cranks subject to overtightening often will simply crack. The cranks should remain readily removable, that's what the tapers's for. That's why I'm wondering about the puller engagement.

Oh man. Bummer.

It’s possible that when whoever installed the crank they really cranked it on there and it’s stuck but I doubt it.

You might be able to cut threads in there and still salvage the crank

Also fortunately you buggered the NDS. You might be able to find a replacement
