How many miles?

I'm coming up on 125,000 miles, ones I had recorded & can verify, over the course of my riding days. Thought that was pretty darn good. Then I saw this guy. https://www.cyclist.co.uk/news/7352/...DqfI_aut9Idp6c
I only need to average 41,667 miles a year to do this by the time I turn 82.
How about you guys? Any idea of total miles over the years?

I'm a rookie I guess. I started recording my miles in 2010. Since then only 44,412 total miles so far....

Ck out this article - million mile man

Hard to believe what this guy has done.

I thought I was doing well at 5K miles per year and over 100K miles since 2000 but nothing compared to the guy in the article.

Everyone starts somewhere!

I am incredibly impressed by anyone who gets even close to a million miles. I do 6-7k miles per year, and if I can keep that up for 50 years, I'll be lucky to hit 400,000 miles. My wife just hit 2,000 miles for the first time this year, and I couldn't be prouder.

I don't record milage per say, but a back of the envelope calculation I would say that I have at least 350,000km.

I am embarrassed by my low lifetime mileage, except at least 60% was off road.

I'm equally as impressed by how dapper he looks. Probably a British thing.

Thumbs up

Way to go, Mr. Russ Mantle! That is a truly terrific achievement.
Around 360,000 miles here. Hope to one day achieve 500,000.

I used to care, now I don't.

From training perspective time in saddle more important

1M is an astounding number of miles, no matter how you look at it.
Maybe more astounding is how he measured it 50+ years ago.

For me elevation gain tells the story of the ride more so than mileage. A basic loop from home can be 25 / 3000'

can document 56K, but that's only for 13 of the 50+ years I've been putting in miles...

no idea what the actual total would be.
