Recommend painter/frame alignment
I purchased one of the first year Serotta Colorado frames last week. You may have seen it on eBay, 55 cm with really hideous pink and white paint. Anyway, after getting it home, and installing a wheel set, I noticed the front wheel is approximately 5mm off to one side. I don’t feel comfortable trying to reset it myself, and since I want the frame repainted too, I’m looking for someone who can competently do both an alignment and paint.

Where are you located?
There is Ed Litton in the SF Bay Area who can do both. |

Mock that bike with a fix gear if you can and go around the block to check if the bike is actually pulling to one side. With 5 mm that bike must be pulling like a madman to the point that one arm probably hurts. If doesnt do that the fork and frame might be straight and is just a problem with the drop out. Nothing that a file cant fix IMO.

Your location would help us suggest a repair shop; specifically if a reputable one is close to where you live.
I'd love to see the frame restored.

Sorry, I probably should have included my location. I’m near Los Angeles, but I’m not apposed to shipping it somewhere.
Thanks for the suggestion to mock it up and do check ride. That I can do. To me, it looks off when comparing left fork leg to the right. With my eyesight, the uneven fade paint job adds a degree of difficulty in comparing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by velomateo; 05-21-2018 at 03:47 AM. |
