Rollin' Fatties

I have been riding a set of Challenge Strade Bianca 60tpi tires for a couple of weeks and have to say I'm pretty impressed. The casing is supple for a low tpi tire and they seem to hit all the right notes for fat road tires...especially cheapish ones. Beware: I measured them at 35mm on narrow rims. YMMV.
... And oh yeah, the Mr Pink rides great with them.

I have a pair of those on my Davidson. For me it's been really noticable how smooth they are. I've been very impressed.

Pics! I’d love to get a set of tan walls on mine.

I have some Paris Roubaix on my Lynskey and they fatten up to 30mm on my Reynolds 46 aero db wheels. I liked them so much I picked up an extra pair, but they are the 300 tpi version. Glad to hear that the lower tpi tires still work well.

I'm pretty sure the 60tpi version referenced here don't come in tan.

I've been using the Challenge Strada Biancha in the 30mm width mounted to 25 mm HEDs. They measure an actual 32 mm when mounted to this rim. I'm using the 260 TPI version and I must say that I'm really liking them. They are fast on backtop, light enough, and handle gravel very well. I fit them as a test and figured I'd go back to something less wide but I think I'll leave them on. I just can't find a reason to swap them out.

Wow, love that bike of yours Dave...color, mirror logo, the paint in the HT...all of it. If you ever get itchy to build yourself something new, you got a standing “buy” offer here...but I totally understand if that never happens...I need to get off my arse and order one the normal way!

Thanks - this is my favorite road bike of all time so I doubt I'll let it go any time soon so don't hold out for that option.

Thanks again,

dave

I can see why! The terraplane stays look just perfect on a frame our size. The proportions on this one are just so right.

Back to the OP..

I had the same experience with the Challenge 300TPI getting swole on my rims - 27mm plumped out to at least 30mm on my Shamal C17s and wouldn't fit in my ENVE 1.0 or my Look HSC fork.
