I have a 2017, with the 3 year 36k and its looooong gone and I am at about 2 years. Was kind of bummed that 2018 got a much better warranty but car has been solid with 46k so far. I actually was surprised when they extended the warranty by that much, its way more than industry standard. Also not surprised they are going back on it a bit. 50k is still pretty decent and still better than industry standard as the article says.... I get the long warranty still did not save the wagon in the us

i'm too lazy to look, but i wonder what their CPO warranty is?

when i bought my last BMW ages ago, it was clearly an advantage to buy CPO. i bought my car with 16k on the clock CPO with a 100k mile full warranty, where a new BMW had 36k or something similar.

not sure but definitely not 100k or anything remotely close to that. You are sure you did not buy an extended warranty with your CPO? That is A LOT of warranty, good deal

nope, at the time that was their standard CPO gig. that was a long time ago.

fantastic car though, blew right through 100k miles, all the maintenance myself and never one issue other than routine maintenance. easy enough car to work on too.

Honda, Toyota, and some others have a 3-36000 bumper to bumper AND a 5-60000 powertrain. Not sure which is better, but I feel everything on all brands is just getting out of control with the electronics etc. I may be thinking of that 4RUNNER as my next retro grouch purchase.

I believe it varies a bit. I just purchased a CPO 2013 Passat TDI that came with 2 yrs/UNLIMITED miles bumper-to-bumper, but only because it's a TDI. Not sure what it would be for the regular gas crowd.

Passat TDI SEL with 67k original. VW CPO threshold is 75k miles, regardless of year.

And yes, I'm really, really digging it so far. Never had a car with this kind of torque. I've accidentally chirped the front tires a couple of times pulling out into traffic - with the AC running.

And don't forget the 8 year/80,000 mile emissions control warranty (which is federally mandated for all vehicles sold in the US starting in 1995).

My “adventure “ car is a 1997 4Runner. 262000 miles and one somewhat significant repair - replace driveshaft. Hard to believe, really.
