Yes, 12mm TA front and rear. IS brake mounts, if that's an issue for you - I am uncertain what the future of IS/post mount is for the major road groups, but I suppose you can always use XT calipers with a Shimano group or whatever.

That's a really lovely bike you have there.. Great job on the mix of vintage/silver and modern looks on it.

What’s going on with the valve cap under the front rack? If that’s a spare valve core threaded in there, then that’s a great idea.

This bike looks incredible. I’m thinking of replacing my NFE with one of these when they’re back in stock in my size.

Amused that you noticed the “valve cap.” The compass ud-1 has a bolt there that Is intended to attach the rack directly to the fender, assuming that you’re willing to drill your front fender in that location. See specs here: https://www.renehersecycles.com/shop...ass-ud-1-rack/

The Honjos are so solid and rattle-free that they don’t seem to need this extra support, and given where the rack ended up, it would have probably messed with the fender line to attach there, so I left it as is. Maybe I will fix it someday.

Great rig. Maybe better photos. And good on you for riding to work. Win-win-win!

If I could only have one bike and it had to be affordable, I would buy this bike - it is perfect.

To be clear, this build is definitely not in the affordable category, though it can easily be built up nicely for literally half what I've put into it. I'm a bad person to take equipment advice from if you're trying to save money though.

How do you like the Cowbell bar? Is the flare something you like or don’t really notice?

I love the gentle flare for going downhill. Not quite as great for just hammering in the wind on the flat, but I got over that.

Oh yea, I can see that!

I am thinking a Rival Group and DT350 alloy wheels and some whatever cockpit parts.

I mean the basis of this bike (the frameset) is relatively affordable. What you do with it in terms of parts is what can blow affordability out of the water!

Still love it...

Add this little cherry to the top and the cake will be perfect.

Edit: nevermind, just saw your component list...you already have it!

Have heavily pondered going dynamo lighting - would love a Son hub on this thing. However these days I am prioritizing carrying the Cycliq camera/lights, which I think you can see in a few photos. After a nasty rear-ending by a BMW on Columbus Ave this past August that resulted in a totaled Tinno road bike, a fractured right scapula, a ride to the emergency room, and two months off the bike, I don’t ride into SF without my evidence collection enabled.
