2023 tour de palm springs

Any PL members coming out for this? I'll be out there with the usual suspects. My hot tip is to skip pre registration and do it on the spot friday afternoon; the pre-reg line just to pick up your packet (?) looked super long and I definitely got side eyed as I signed a waiver, payed, and left within 10 minutes.

Registration and Vendor Expo: February 10 & 11
Location: Downtown Palm Springs – South Palm Canyon Drive between Tahquitz and Baristo
Entertainment: Over 20 band concerts will occur throughout the event and rest areas
Start & Finish Line: Experience one of the most famous and festive send off and finishes in America – Location of Start/Finish is approximately at 134 E. Tahquitz.
Route Support: Over 20 vehicles will support cyclists along the routes
Communication: 25 RACES HAM radio operators will be standing by for cyclist support
Rest Stops: 3 lunch stops and 2 snack stops and 4 water stops will be available along the routes
Sag Foods: include hot pasta, burritos, wings, pizza, and pb&js.
Volunteers: Over 2,500 volunteers will pour their hearts out to give cyclists a wonderful experience!

Hotter'n'HELL last year...

...IIRC. Hellacious headwinds/sidewinds are always a possibility. I'm going to skip it this year.

Not for me, too many flat miles, though the opportunity to yell "Cindy" at Garv does tempt me slightly.

Routes changed to an out a back format due to flooding. Oh well…

The following are important notes to have for each route:

99 mile route - out and back to Fantasy Springs Casino SAG Stop

64 mile route - out and back to Westside Elementary SAG Stop

50 mile route - out to Grace Church parking lot and do a U-Turn

25 mile route - out and back to Lowes SAG Stop

7 mile route - out and back to Demuth Park
