Congrats! Guess where the Champion's League final is held next year?
Hoping you guys can go at it again against Man City. People might say, 30 years without a league title, but I think the pressure is off, now that Klopp has brought home the biggest silverware (figuratively and literally) on the continent. You have Keita who finally seems to be clicking and Ox who's returning. One or two more signings (one more attacker and an outside back), and you'd go toe-to-toe against City. It is impressive what Van Dijk has done to that back line. Matip and Lovren actually look half decent... First competitive game next year is the Community Shield. Should be an interesting match against City. Thankfully, there's no Club World Cup to disrupt plans right when you have the busiest stretch of games in December. |

It was not a great game, but I think the three-week lag after the last league game was at greater fault for that than the early penalty.
Spurs just never looked likely to score. The most emblematic moments of that for me were when Son, bearing down on goal, twice had the ball picked off his toes. Once by Trent A-A, and once by Virgil van Dijk (who is deceptively quick). Alisson Becker was very much in charge, too. He caught shots that Kepa, on Wednesday, was punching away nervously. If anything, the stats flattered Spurs, imho, and the best non-scoring shot was the one Milner fizzed past the post, with Lloris unsighted and stranded.
