This. They are not cheap, but the leather is great and they last a long time if you care for them properly (the key is to wash your hands with a good soap WITH THE GLOVES ON) after a ride and let them air dry.

I have Rapha leather gloves and find they are thin and light enough to not notice them being on for hours. There is a weird rectangle tan when I take them off, and it generally lasts less than a day.
For cleaning, I throw it in the gentle cycle with my gear twice a month, let it air dry, and then spread a bit of leather conditioner on the outside. My current ones are going on three years and still look brand new. |

Scars on both palms from gravel crashes two years ago. Hurt like hell. Never again. I wear minimal gloves now.

I got hands up gloves about a month ago after a similar post so search mine if you want more!
I like the handsup for the flare of color I chose and the party time message on the palms. That said, they aren’t going to be very long lasting or durable. I already have multiple stitches that have come undone and can tell they wont take much more abuse before falling apart. I’ve been riding them on gravel and single track so they do get more friction than a road rider would.. |

I have not tried to catch myself when falling I guess. It’s been a low side at speed where my arm and leg took a beating with no time to catch myself or it’s been dumb and slow and I turned away from the impact. I guess I have gone over the bars twice but neither resulted in palm damage.
I always wear gloves on a motorcycle but don’t recall my palms hitting the ground in either of my incidents. I have experienced palm damage but it was back when I ran competitively. Last edited by thirdgenbird; 05-14-2021 at 12:40 PM. |

Anything in crocheted back for the traditionalists?
I loved the Spenco brand but the company folded a few years back. |

Shimano S-Phyre gloves. I've yet to find another model that is as comfortable and minimalist as these, and they look fantastic too!

Endura
I was ripping too many Pearl Izumi and Giro gloves so I switched to the Endura Humvee. I have great luck with these, well engineered and durable.
