Yikes! What does it cost to close the Galleria in Milano to shoot a commercial? And the entire Piazza del Duomo? And is that Elisabetta Gregoraci at 1:23? And then at 1:36 suddenly he is in the Piazza della Signoria in Florence and it's completely closed too?

Or do you just call up and say, "Ciao, I'm Mario Cipollini..." and the cities close them for free?

I know the company doesn't get much love but this commercial... This was me when I was just getting into racing, dreaming about Paris Roubaix.

I was in Milan when they closed the entire Piazza del Duomo..for Ferrari. Must have been 200 Ferrari's parked none to tail..and then they left..in order. 'Supported' by many, many Carabinieri and even Italian military..so, if ya got the 'horsepower', like I'll bet Mario does, it can be done.

The best part was seeing so many sophisticated, grey haired, older drivers..with their very beautiful, and much younger, female passengers..VERY Italian...

This isn't a commercial, it's the filming of an ad. And it's one of my favorite bike films....

Yeah, that's great. Who hasn't been that kid? Full disclosure: I want to be that kid. Again.

I was that kid too.
But I am certain I was not thinking about a Specialized then. Or now.

I looked and couldn’t find it, but I still remember the Postal commercial where the front of the paceline opens the mailboxes, the center putts in the mail, and the back closes the boxes.

Found it: https://adland.tv/adnews/usps-united...eries-2004-030

So.. the local former director of the USCF and long time coach of some of the best Juniors in the area, he held a "model agency" camp if you will. Apparently Philips wanted him to find some Euro looking rider/s to star in their commercial for the new shaver that has a built in gel dispenser.

Although not model material, I showed up because if you did, you got a free Phillips gel shaver kit.

Norelco is the shaver brand.

Incredibly, one of the guys, a true Euro looking guy, was picked to star in the commercial. It was visible for a while but I haven't been able to find it on YouTube. Basically it's the guy racing, winning, then the podium girls oohing and aahing (lol it autocorrected to "aching") over his smoothly shaven face.

Wow for the life of me I cannot remember the racer's name. Keith I think, raced for Kissena for a while. Turned pro. Quit riding after his contract expired.
