A question for Hampsten Strada Bianca owners
What's the biggest tire you've been able to fit on your Wound UP equipped SB? I believe 33.3 Jack Browns will fit, but I tried them once of a different bike and don't care to ride them again.

I agree that the Jack Browns should fit the fork. Having said that, I’ve never tried them...however, I’ve run the Compass Stampede Pass (32s) with lots of room to spare. The Compass tires are pretty glorious, btw.

Can't say, SJ. I've got a Seven 5e midreach fork on mine. Gravelking 32's are the biggest I've tried to put on - they were fine.

I don't have a WoundUp on mine, but I have 35mm Bon Jon Pass tires on wide rims, and it fits easily under the Seven fork. I had always thought the WoundUp had even more clearance than the Seven fork.

That’s my perception as well. I think Hampsten specs the Wound Up a little taller than the standard offering. The a-c is 378 ish as opposed to 376, if I remember correctly.

The steel fork clears some 35's.

As far as the fork- a wound up commuter will NOT accept a bjp on wide rim. A true 33mm yes, maybe 34mm I can’t find a rim tire combo that I own to get a 34mm tho. FYI gravel king 32’s measure 33+ on Belgium+

Do you already own the Hampsten or are you thinking about ordering one? I'll bet Steve would be happy to give you all the info you need.

I have a Wound Up equipped SB and it has 28s with 40mm Honjo fenders under Shimano BR600 brakes. I’ll do some measuring tonight too see if the 32mm GP4 Seasons (34-35mm on Belgium+) on another bike will fit, but I can’t imagine they wouldn’t.

I have the same (longer) Wound Up and it fits 40mm Honjos and 28mm tires handily. Not sure what would fit under the standard Wound Up. Steve is your best resource for an accurate and precise answer.

Ok, you guys made me work. I took four forks and a 35mm Panaracer T-serv tire on a 23mm HED rim. The tire measures 35mm tall and 35mm wide. I took picture and I'll post two.
Seven fork - plenty of room at the crown, sides clear by 2-3mm Wound Up fork - 5-6mm at the crown, sides clear by 3-4mm, see photo MAX fork - 2-3mm at crown and sides Whiskey fork - scads-o-rama, could probably/maybe run a 38mm tire, see photo Personally, I don't think I'd run a 35mm fork on any of the first three forks listed as it's closer than I like for gum, hot tar, twigs, etc. A 32 or 33.3 should fit fine and using a skinnier rim may give you more clearance, Clarence. But that Whiskey fork has room to spare.

Any chance you can share a pic of the bike with the Whiskey fork ... Strada Bianca?

As a comparison, this is a (actual measurement) 35mm tire on a Strada Bianca steel fork.
