Sooooo happy to need using full gloves kayaking in RI now, water temps in low mid 60s, never watched water temps so much...
A good friend/colleague was on cruise out of Tampa, of course dropped them off early but now has to get out of dodge. Suggested she rent a Lamborghini... |

When you first posted this, I thought maybe tailwinds wasn't an appropriate word to use.
I have a cousin that lives on the gulf side of florida, I'm sure he's smart enough to take appropriate precautions. |

Comes with the territory. I lived in Florida for 30 years, hurricanes are expected. This one is a strong one for sure though and hope the best for those on the coast. Don't think I would ride this one out, board up and bug out.

Saw that Brevard issued an emergency declaration already. Fingers crossed for you.

I'm beginning to wonder why I live here. About 15 miles NE of Orlando. Sure....our damage probably won't be too bad....busted gates, a few roof tiles gone, etc. But for those on W coast, roads already clogged....bumper to bumper on I 75 N. Governor who claims climate change a hoax, etc. Local governments doing their best to pave or build on every square foot in spite of land preservations written in local laws. Developers find a way around. Seems like about everywhere has some kind of natural disaster eventually.

We live right on water, our driveway is mandated to be gravel. Our local streets could be that would absorb water. Plus our so called environmental town issuing building permits for 3000sq houses+ taking reducing absorbing footprint. |

Tailwinds as in colloquial phrase thats been around for ages meaning good luck.
Amd good luck is what we all need. I just evacuated. Its going to be a brutal hit, absent a miracle. Projected worst in many decades. Be safe, all. |

Thanks for the kind words. Just finished buttoning up our office and did 1/2 my house last night -- going to finish the rest of the house this afternoon. I tell you, it is certainly hard doing these things with a traumatic brain injury, and I still don't have my right field vision :-(
