Fully threaded QR question or, please explain hubs to me
I'm looking to bid on some Ringle quick release skewers on ebay that have fully threaded rods.
I wonder if the threaded rods might wear down the interior shaft of the hub. However, I don't really understand if or how the rod/axle of the QR (road, rim brake rim) comes into contact with the hub interior. Anyone care to explain this to me? |

axles are made out of hardened steel. it won’t be a problem. heck, axles are hard to wear down even with a file.

The threaded rod is likely a replacement from original. I've got both cam twists(holey) and the flat twister version and neither are fully threaded.
