apparent CF cracking/splitting...
...down near the rear dropouts. normally i'm pretty tolerant of minor CF issues, but this is at a bonded interface.
would you be concerned? |

Are you joking Walter?
That's about as well done as it gets right there.

Yep, I'm with Angry on this one. Stick a fork in that frame unless you want to send it out for repair.

I wouldn't ride as-is, but it probably wouldn't be terribly hard to repair that.

I think the line that runs perpendicular to the tube might just be a masking line...then again I checked my master B stay with those same dropouts/stays and the black paint on the dropout is blended into the clearcoated carbon. Last edited by slambers3; 03-02-2021 at 03:01 PM. |

there's evidence of cracking if i zoom in on the original fotos...and it arrived w/o any support for the rear-triangle.

Did you buy it and it came that way? I’d say it’s shot.

Walter, I would not think keeping the drop out apart would cause that damage. Seems like a horizontal impact damage so possibly in transit, but I would agree with the alloy/carbon theory.
I have a C40 that has some ugly looking rear drop out, I have not ridden in a while worrying it will crack. |
