I'd love to hear your thoughts on the bike with the 1x mullet vs 2x Force AXS. I've been trying to decide which to get on my 2021 gravel build.
And looking at your bike keeps making me want to order a Drifter, as Scott and I had discussed one a few years back to complement my Reactor but life's gotten in the way.

Did the Reactor you mentioned w/o ISP still have a carbon seat tube?

I have one with a carbon ISP and a friend has one without (he previously had one with). By default the non ISP Reactors I’ve seen are all Ti but they have told me that on a carbon ISP, you can cut off and slot the mast to use a 30.9 post.

I completed the 1x transformation yesterday and went for a shakedown ride today. Really happy with the new bits. The bike feels noticeably lighter and the copper cassette and chain look cool with the black and titanium. Two more changes are coming if I can ever get the parts (Hope RX4 calipers - I have the rear but haven't been able to get the front; Redshift Pro Stem - USPS seems to have lost it as it was shipped to me almost a month ago).

I really like the new setup the best of what I've tried so far. I've tried the following:
  1. 2x - 46/33 crank with 10-33 cassette
  2. 2x - 43/30 crank with 10-36 cassette
  3. 1x - 40 crank with 10-52 cassette

I like the simplicity of not having a FD and not having to worry about dropping my chain. I also really like the 52 low gear for those extended super steep climbs. I've only gone on solo rides since the switch so the larger jumps between higher gears hasn't really been a big deal (10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 21 ...). If this were my only bike I might not want it to be 1x when riding with the gang. I hope to go on a group ride soon to see how I get along. I have been on a few group rides with the 2x setup and gravel tires (G-One Allround 38s). I was able to keep up with the guys running normal road tires just fine. They were surprised. Climbing was maybe a bit slower. I just ordered another 10-52 cassette for my road wheelset, so hopefully I can try that combo soon.

Anyway, I'm really happy with the switch so far. I'll post back after going on a group ride or 2.

Been waiting on this for a long time. Got lost in the mail for about a month. The next update to the Drifter will be going on this weekend.

I have a drifter as well and been toying with the idea of going 1x for simplicity and weight also new tinker project. It is my only bike and I mostly do roads looking to get into more gravel now that I moved to PNW. Curious to hear how you feel it performs in group rides and road duty with road wheels
