OT: Alcantara Care

I’ve been researching products to use, and feel none the wiser about what to get. Does anyone have experience with cleaning and protecting Alcantara, and what products do you like? There are numerous cleaners available that should probably do the trick, but I’m more curious about the protective treatments. Dr. Beasley’s looked promising, however it gets very mixed reviews. This will be used in my new car. Thanks for any info.

Seat, door card or headliner? Color?

I have an alcantara headliner in my allroad (swapped over from an S6 avant), and I do my best not to mess with it.

Here's a good reference from the manufacturer.

Mainly the seats, also the door. It’s in an S5. The color is light, definitely going to want to protect it.

Thanks, i’ll be looking into the link when I get home.

I’ll also check autogeek. Thanks!

I propose two simple solutions that avoid fancy creams, time or effort:

Sweet ride. Enjoy!

BTW, I'm looking at 3-4 year old Cayenne S, GTS to replace the allroad, and some of the GTS models have alcantara seat inserts too...so I'm watching this thread carefully.

Is this what happens if Alcantara gets wet? BTW, I love Avants, especially the S6 variety!

Ask your Dr. if Alcantara is right for you. Whatever that is.

Brave? person taking on that color and material in a high contact area.

It looks great, and I’ll admit I know next to nothing about it.

It looks to me like it’s high friction and will easily absorb liquids?

Good luck!

The Alcantara site lists some products from James and Perrone which would be sent from Europe, but I'm giving the Pinnacle package a try. Within the product ranges of the brands I've looked into, it's complicated to decipher which is best, specifically for Alcantara. Pinnacle at the very least simplifies that. I just placed my order on Autogeek.com.

Thanks, it's been a blast! The Porsche Macan Turbo or GTS would be my fantasy replacement for my S4 B7 Avant, but I'm not quite prepared for that.

Me too! I first considered an A4 Allroad to replace my beloved S4 Avant, but in the end went the way of the sezzy. I asked the dealer I scored this beauty from in Henderson, NV if they had any RS6 Avants pass through, and the finance guy said he thought there were 3. And the salesman I dealt with said one went for $45K OVER sticker! All the ones they had sold quickly. This is good news for wagophyles.

The heart wants what it wants! I'll deal which whatever struggles come along with it. I have the same Alcantara in-lays in black in my previous Audi, and believe me, that gets dirty too. I didn't put the research in to how to properly clean and protect the material until now though, so hopefully being proactive and diligent will have a good result.

Isn't that the tagline for the marketplace portion of this site?
