I'll also throw out - on a much gentler but still rockin' note - that I was fortunate enough to see The Human Jukebox, The King of Rockabilly, Sleepy Labeef, he of the awesome baritone and 6 feet 6 inches of height (198cm), before he died.

Why the moniker, "The Human Jukebox"? Well, one time they tried to count all of the songs that he could play. They stopped when they got to 3,000.

A live medley - Tore Up, Ain't Got No Home, Ring of Fire. Even I couldn't resist dancing to that awesome boogie woogie when I saw him. That man put on a fantastic show.

I stumbled onto a podcast called "Dolly Parton's America". I'm not a country music fan but I gave the podcast a listen and was drawn in. It touches on many aspects of her life and career. She spent a large amount of time with the host which isn't something we really see so much with many famous people. Due to that I've got some of her music rattling around in the coconut.

Tickets to My Downfall - that album won’t leave my skull. It’s constantly playing over and over and over and over “in my ‘eddd”. Still love it though. Sounds so much like Blink-182, which is a good thing IMO.

Been listening to a bunch of Jazz the last couple months related to playing guitar and more recently some Soul and Jazz/Blues stuff.

Jimmy Smith mostly when he was playign with Kenny Burrell

And the last couple weeks a bunch of Booker T and the MGs. (You can never get too much Steve Cropper)

Been playing a lot of organ parts on guitar lately along with the guitar parts. Good stuff.

And listening to lots of other Stax and Blue notes recordings as a result.

So this month, my playlist has been hovering between Paul McCartney and Greta Van Fleet. The latter has been blowing my mind with their recent singles. I'm 26 and growing up with classic rock influences, I can't think of any other recent bands that have this kind of impact on me. I am actually feeling excited!

I have been also. I introduced my son to The Style Council and they have led him down the Jazz/Soul/Motown/Stax/Trojan rabbit hole.

Thanks to my son I'm enjoying music again. He is discovering music and bands. We listen and play together. He has ignited my passion again.
