I would also add that if you are buying a ICAN wheel set from their "USA" warehouse, the wheels are NOT stocked in that warehouse. They still have to be shipped from China to that warehouse (near LAX) and subsequently shipped to you. I made that mistake.
The BTLOS wheels look good and their web-site is really easy to use. And I love the hub options and customization. If I had to buy new carbon wheels, BTLOS stuff would be my choice... |

I was tempted by BTLOS for my first carbon wheels but decided to suck it up, pay twice as much, and go for a pair of Bora WTOs. Pretty sure I would always have that niggling doubt about the Asian set and my bike has Campy parts anyway.

Your choice was the correct one.

I bought a set of rim brake ICAN FL 50 (Fast & Light) from Amazon UK in June 2019 and they have been superb. The rims are really nicely finished and the spec and weight was as described: Novatec straightpull hubs, CX-Ray Spokes, 25mm wide (18.5 internal) and 1470g. I ran them with Corsa Speed 23 mm tubeless tyres for a perfect aero profile and they are rapid. Braking is great wet or dry (I'm in the west of Scotland so it's wet a lot) and the bearings have lasted well. I really could not be happier with these wheels and I would highly recommend them. I've since upgraded to a set of Bora WTO 60s, mainly for the bling factor, and to be honest I don't really feel any great difference between them. If anything, the ICANS are a little faster and braking is better!

The rims are spectacular...VERY easy to build, VERY high quality, NOT a ton of $. The website has some info on each brake track but the more aggressive looking is probably the best for the wet. BTW-VERY similar in $ to the ICAN wheels. https://btlos.com/road-bike/hand-bui...arbon-wheelset

I gotta stay out of this thread. It's going to cost me some $$ very shortly.

Can the graphics be removed from the BTLOS rims?

The BTLOS look nice as well and a smidge cheaper than LB. I think the advantage of the LB set is the width and maybe a bit higher quality than the ICAN. The advantage of the latter set is that I can be riding them on Monday!
It seems like almost everything I hear about both is good. |

What are recommendations for affordable carbon like BTLOS but with hooked rims? Thinking road 700c, disc, tire like Conti GP5000 in a 25 like I have on my Firefly. Still reluctant to go tubeless on a small tire carrying >70 psi.

Thank you, I am a nitwit! Didn't check 700c because I have a set of 650b wheels coming, and in that size only hookless, which is OK for me because in the 38-42mm tire range I want to go tubeless.
