Zipp hub / potential upgrade?

Common to see corroded front hubs from trainer ride sweat dripping. Some folks have downright toxic sweat.

I would remove the undamaged one from the good hub and then source a replacement from somewhere else. Looks similar to centering screw on a lot of brake sets or spend some time in a good hardware store. Might help also to ask Zipp for specs on the screw I.e size and thread info.

Interesting, I've never had an issue with Zipp/SRAM/Quarq warrantying second hand items. YMMV

The metal of the screw is extremely soft

Given how much torque you could realistically apply to such a small fitting to get it stuck/stripped in the first place, I'd put my money on an EZ-out or a slightly oversized torx bit that you give a few taps to seat and bite into what's left of the head getting that out of there. Once you get the bolt out - McMaster-Car will likely have an equivalent replacement if you can't find something from another hub or zipp direct.

Could any LBS rebuild a front wheel?
It's just a wheel now that it's out of warranty

IF it were under warranty, then no because a shop rebuilding the wheel would kill your warranty

I've built a fair few Zipp rims onto DT Swiss, Bitex, or White Industries hubs. All bought pre-owned so I didn't have to worry about any pesky warranty issues

Hey! I had the same problem with my wheels. had a shop carefully get the screw out and replace it. I had this link for the clinch nut in case it got damaged in the process. https://www.ebay.com/itm/283307762315

Saw this but it’s only for the rear threaded side and not the front hub. The rear clinch nut is smaller in diameter
