Invested fan-boys can rationalize this away as edgy or badass or maybe just branding, but is that really what this is? I hope so. But who else puts out stuff like this? I’m sorry, but these sure don’t seem to me the broodings of a beautiful mind, and they’re not the only ones.

He's just gone up in my estimation re. the Black Friday comments.

From the black Friday comments:
"They buy stuff they don't need, and maybe can't afford."

Is this not how he makes a living?

"The current graphics on his bikes are very nicely done though, that’s for sure."

I think you can credit Joe Bell and/or House Industries for that.

If anyone feels morally compromised by owning a Sachs
in the 59-61cm size range, I'll take it off you hands
and can provide a hand lettered papal indulgence in exchange.

As long as you promise to maintain it with matching and proper cables/housing/tape, a non nut-saver seat (that's level and matches the drapes) and a nice stem that's as level as it is long. None of those hamstring/back/neck/hand issues that may make your new bike look like this:

Then...just maybe

Over the years, I too have grown to appreciate the aesthetics of a "proper" bike. There are rules as it were, and unless you're a triathlete or a troglodyte you should follow them

Ode to RS

What I like about RS.
  1. He Races CX. that alone should be enough.
  2. He sponsors a CX team. See comment above.
  3. He was smart enough to partner with House.
  4. He could give a ***** about my opinion.

What I don't like about RS.
  • He's nice in person. Which kinda ruins it.

^^^^^^^ fu*king gets it ^^^^^^^ I’m not just going out of my way to be a dick…. I’ve observed long enough to make my own opinion and I usually get it right. Fanboys can be impressed and inspired if they want to but I’ve always thought there was a lot of attempted self created hype…..that apparently is working. I love when fanboys say you “don’t get it” if you don’t buy into that silliness. I’m more of a let the work speak for itself type

That’s funny with all the talk about Hendrix on his knees and tubes and brazing rods I thought it was more of a Broke Back Mountain type of scenario haha

Look, I have no opinion of your opinion except that it came as commentary on someone else's thread. I opine that RS will speak for himself if he wishes, but I will say you are now returning to this (8 pages!) as a dog returns to its vomit. In some circles that would be taken as evidence of malice.
