It's an Oveja Negra snack pack.
It's useful and well-made. It works on a mtb because the top tube is very long and has a flat top, so it stays put and my knees don't hit it. It does flop around and hit my knees on a road bike having a shorter top tube that is round.

Care to share with us the specs , tubing and geometry ?

I've seen a few eriksen gravel or cx on the bay that could have fit except they had super super super high stack

Thanks! It is awesome. I did three hours today over mixed terrain today. It went through mud and gravel without hesitation and feels light and quick. It feels almost like a drop bar xc bike. You feel like you are riding in it not on it.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on those Compass knobbies: how fast they roll on the unsealed surfaces and sealed, compared to a Compass file-tread if you've been on them also.

The knobbies rolled through mud and sand without any issues. They felt planted even at the higher pressure I was running them at. They roll surprisingly well on pavement, but not quite as smooth as the file tread.

The file tread on the same terrain would slip a little more when in mud or soft rutted sand. They rolled better on the road than the steilicoom, but the steilicoom aren’t awful.

Sure! Tubing is butted 3/2.5 Ti, 1" chainstays that are kinda squoval'd at the dropout, kinda neat. Longer stays (433) and lower bb (75) than I'm used to, very "gravel," angles are 73st 72ht, 583 tt, 169 ht...oh and a 73mm wide t47 bb shell with external bearing bb (required mtn width cranks to clear stays) to give it room for 45's front and rear.

I will say, the welds and tube shaping on this frame are pretty impressive, well exceeded my expectations.

Rides ok too I guess

Wheelworks in Belmont has a Lauf True Grit in the shop...I took it round the block. I can feel the fork sag maybe 5-10mm when I get on, but it is more difficult to feel what the fork is doing when riding...perhaps I was distracted by other details of the bike. Do you find that the action of the leaf springs is noticeable? Or is it just that the fork is less harsh over the course of an otherwise jostling ride?

spend 100mi+ on dirt roads and i think youll be thanking this fork for how RELATIVELY fresh you feel at the end of the day (vs a rigid fork).

i particularly like how active it ISNT on smooth terrain...i dont want it to suck away energy that im putting into forward movement or steering.
