My Corsa Extra GAN had a painted fork and the brake bridge was different.

To help with the effort.

Here's the info given to me over on BF for this one, thanks!

"G3886 - serial number, frame built in late 1996.
45 - different font size, non-standard marking.
55C - frame size 55 cm, C - marking used at the time only on the Corsa 01 model.
Paint pattern introduced in 2000 for the 2001 season used on Team Domo Farm Frites, frame painted in EMC.
Information posted on a piece of paper attached to the fork steering tube would be very helpful."

And the pics.

So, my understanding is that this is Deddacciai Zero Uno 18MCD6 tubing.

Definitely some shaping to the tubes at the BB and other areas.

I found the proper blue Silva Eddy Merckx tape I saw in the team pics so that will go on once it arrives. Waiting for the right size/angle stem too so I can finish dialing in my fit. This evening I swapped in a black saddle for that very light Flite that it came with.

My first Merckx and I'm eager to give it a try. But the snow is piling up and getting the good steel back out on the road is months away.

Does anyone happen to know anything about this frameset or what model/year it is? I've never seen another Merckx like this. Dropouts appear to be pre 2000s but paint is more reminiscent or their early carbon frames? Possible that it was resprayed at some point. A team bike perhaps? Thanks!

Few more. Appears to have been a respray, but can anyone identify from the code/stamps on the bottom of the BB?

I'm sure 'the wizard' will get back to you about your frame. He knows all.

And that is one clean looking crankset you have there! Has it ever been dirty?

And welcome to the forum, btw.

Merckx stayed with above-bb cable guides longer than most but finally made the switch in 1984, iirc.

E9770 - Professional built in late 1983. Frames with above-BB cable guides were built at EMC until 1986.

Thanks!

Could I ask, what tubing was used on this bike? SL?

Very much appreciate the intel.

Wow. Interesting early Profesional. Chrome fork, flat crown. No pump peg. Where did you find it in that condition?
