Another failed Ergo Shifter

I have a Campy Centaur 10 speed Ultra shift left Ergo Shifter that has failed.

In the past I have had a collection of Power shift versions that have also failed. My understanding is that there are no parts available for the power shift version so you have to replace the entire assembly. Is that also the case for the Ultrashift version? If not where can I buy the parts?

I can buy a new Veloce 10 speed set for around $120 but it will be power shift that does not have the fine cage movement trimming capability to keep the chain from hitting the cage in any gear.

Usually with the ultrashift(the older versions anyway) you could buy replacement parts. Haven't looked online for parts in awhile but maybe 10yrs ago rebuilt some record shifters. There should be Campagnolo Official videos on You tube for shifter rebuilds.

I used to own a set of those, centaur ultra's. There really close to a chorus/record and quite nice.

No guys its 10 speed. The matching rear shifter shifts for 10 gears not eleven.

As the OP stated, it's (2009/2010) Centaur 10 Ultrashift. Similar to Chorus and above 11 speed levers introduced at the same time, but Centaur and Veloce were 10 speed.

Betting that oldpotatoe (Peter) can diagnose the problem based on what it will/will not do, and will probably have the required parts on hand to repair it.

some time ago I rebuilt one of those myself. If I ever need it rebuilt again I'm sending out to someone. All I remember of the experience was a lot of foul language happening.

What has failed? I have all the innards for Ultrashift levers...including 10s(2009/10 Centaur and Veloce).
PowerShift changed in 2015, droopy thumb button and much more robust but yes, the older versions do fail and no parts available.
Ultra shift..I buy assemblies and cannibalize for parts. Which Ultrashift parts do you need? IME, very little fails with US...

Gumby, 10s and 11s, came out in 2009. Initially, Campag did offer small parts but then in 2011, went to assemblies only BUT, as I mentioned, I buy Ultrashift assemblies and strip for parts.

Back to the OP..what has failed, what do you need? If you don't want to tackle it yourself and it's something I have, send it to me and I'll fix it.

The Gumby ones can be a challenge. There are 2 springs that can be vexing to get into place. The lever centering spring in the front and the flat spring that raises the thumb button in the rear. Both to get it into the lever body then getting it up and over the little post on the thumb button..I had to make a tool for the one in the front..to grab it and get in into the wee notch in the body

I find that the 2008 and older ones much easier to take apart and fix BUT...the 2009+ ones aren't that bad..IMHO..

Don't even hesitate...

Send it to Peter.
He's beyond competent, his prices are bonkers-reasonable, and he turns it around in no time at all.

I have nearly ten bikes with Campag Ergo 10 speed. When the shifters need attention, it just couldn't be easier. I send them to OP in Boulder.
