Wow, sweet bikes... but I'm more impressed that those wheels lasted 20k miles!

Brake track was shot long ago. Brake performance was terrible. Out of nowhere I decided to start building wheels so suddenly I had a long overdue but fun project - replace those wheels!

Incidentally, the old Mavic rims were a period-correct but very narrow 13mm internal width. New Light Bicycle rims are much larger at 25-ish mm internal and 35mm depth, but weigh about 40 grams less. Progress!
