Thoughts on Muscle massagers
What do you guys think about any of these new cordless percussive muscle massagers?
Curious what experiences you guys have, which is best, if the expensive ones are worth it?

The Hitachi Magic Wand seems to be quite popular.

Look into a jigsaw + attachments. Way cheaper and the exact same thing.
I have a black and decker electric jigsaw that was ~$50 from amazon and then a "mobility-bit" attachment that was another ~$50 and it works perfectly. |

Some great reviews on Amazon...
Ms. Monique says, among other things "Plus if your kids find it you can legitimately say it's a neck massager." Honey says "Definitely buy. Your bits will thank you....If I didn't have a boyfriend I would call this one it." And finally Mike Johnson (really), says "I have returned the product for a full refund, because it was much to big and bulky..." I guess Mr. Johnson felt inadequate in comparison... I wonder if Dewalt (or Silca) has a 20v cordless version...my wife's birthday is coming up...

The King of the Mountain is the DMS Deep Muscle Stimulator. There's nothing like it on the market. All the others while doing a decent job, pale in comparison.
Unfortunately the price went up a few years back when I was considering buying one at $1900. They're now $2800 ! .......yeah yikes !! https://www.deepmusclestimulator.net/ https://healthvibed.com/dms-deep-mus...ssager-review/ My Chiro has the Theragun, pictured in the OP. Again, around the neck area, it does an ok job loosening up tight muscles. For legs , from running and cycling, I don't think it compares all that well to the R8 Roller ($130) that I just started a thread on the other day. As well as the orange/black TP Grid Roller. I tried the Theragun on my chronically trouble area , the hip. It didn't go as deep as the red TP massage ball. And was certainly not like the DMS. If you were to purchase one, you could literally toss all massage devices, it's that powerful.

It is worth noting that TSA takes special interest in these devices, especially the Wand. More than once, particularly in small regional airports, TSA has removed the device, held it up for close inspection and asked about it. It is sometimes difficult to keep a poker face when those in-line behind snicker and giggle at the TSA inspection........

I've had good success with a lacrosse ball and use it anywhere on my back or front, it's cheap, I travel with it and they will last forever.

I have a Hyperice Hypervolt and it's incredible. I run it over my IT bands, quads and hamstrings at night and wake up with fresh legs in the morning. It also works great on neck and shoulders. It costs $350 but that's a fraction of what the high-high end massagers cost.

Nothing beats a foam roller, especially for the back.
