Huge thank you to fellow paceliners

I wanted to give an update and public thank you to the following paceliners:

Gsinill
Jaybee
fmradio516
Livesadventure

A couple months back, I came across a friend with a young man who had shown an interest in cycling for pleasure and also a doorway to lose some weight. The dad and him spent a couple hundred on a specialized Allez, but the components were rusted or broken and made riding very difficult. I wanted to help but didn't have the funds to spend a ton of money. I posted in the classifieds if anyone would happen to have any old 10 speed parts laying around and the support was overwhelming! Within a couple days I had all the parts needed to take his bike from broken to smooth shifting and braking. If the parts weren't donated for the project, they came at a very discounted cost. I was incredibly humbled by the generosity that came from everyone. Once I got all the parts in, I installed everything and the dad took it down to the local bike shop to get new cables/housing and final adjustments.

His son Evan was very surprised and was over the moon excited to see the new parts. It wasn't until he took the bike out that he was able to truly see the difference. I was told from the dad that the smile went from one ear to the other. He has been consistently going out with his dad on 15-25 mile rides and getting stronger every time out.

Thank you again to everyone who contributed towards this project!
