First time bike building

Well, here goes.Retired in Feb.2019.Bought a Soma ES frame that another forumite said was on sale for 225 for frame and 99 for fork. Ordered parts from
Biketiresdirect, ColoradoCyclist, Competitivecyclist and PerformanceBike.Going to try to build gravel bike so using Shimano GRX Crank,Front and Read Derailuers,Shimano Ultegra brakes,King threadless headset. Was going to try to build wheels but too many tools to buy for that!Bought wheels from Coloradocyclist .So far only brakes have shown up.Have been watching ParkTool.com videos and picking local bike stores Mechs brains.Pictures to follow showing progress or disaster!

Awesome man! Congrats on retirement. I have to say that there's nothing I enjoy more than building a bike. Maybe that's why I buy and sell them so often - so I can keep building. It's a beautiful way to pass time and +1 one beer and music to accompany you on the journey.

love cobbling a bike together. making stuff work is the best. as long as the BB screws in and you have a complete headset it should be fairly straightforward. enjoy.
