Paris-Brest-Paris 2019

It's less than a week away. Are any Paceline members riding?

Bon chance!
I wont be there but New England Randonneurs has 17 registered, including a rather fast tandem team that i believe is aiming for the mixed tandem record (of course its not a race...)
Apparently the youngest, oldest, and fastest finishers have been NER members as well.

Tailwinds to all who are doing this ...

Seems like an amazing event. I would be amazed if I could simplify life enough to attempt the qualification events.

The 90 hour group mostly had tailwinds both ways in 2011. Don't think we are going to be so lucky this year, but it has occurred to me that my 2011 experience means there could be headwinds both ways. In fact, an earlier forecast had headwinds at the finish, but that seems to have changed.

I really like the course, and it's great how much support you get from people. Looking forward to the crepes. And riding with 6500 of your closest friends isn't bad either.

One of my favorite experiences in 2011 was descending a hill at 3am and hearing a noise that sounded like I had something stuck in my tire. I was about to panic, when I realized there was someone by the side of the road who was clapping for me. Never did see them.
