"Mad Dogs and Englishmen"-Joe Cocker. A '71 film that followed his concert tour in 1970. Always been a fan.

Buena Vista Social Club. Not Rock but it has Ry Cooder; does that count?

"Pulse"
Pink Floyd "Pulse" without a doubt. The second guitar solo by David Gilmour on Comfortably Numb still ends shivers up my spine...
Bsically the whole concert is a greatest hits, they didn't miss Roger Waters at all. |

Thanks all. There have been a couple mentioned that I didn't know about. I have owned the Urgh! LPs for decades but didn't know about the film. Same with Dance Craze: lots of LPs by those bands but never heard of the film. For the die hard collector:

I have seen and like most of the movies listed here so far. Would add the Grateful Dead Movie.

The Soft Bulletin
A doc on the flaming Lips making of their excellent ‘Soft Bulletin’ was released in the mid 2000s and it is a great story. They were alt rockers just hanging on to a record deal when they came up with this recording. They were shunned and ultimately dumped by the label but pursued the recording anyways.
I would say it was my favve recording of the decade, and it shows their creative process along with the drama that besets a band who consumes far too many drugs. |
