I'm going to repost my CL ad here. Bike is in Brooklyn NY. I can ship, but I'm really busy right now and I don't want to rush packing it, so just be understanding that it would take me some time to get the thing packed and shipped. Paceline discount to 1380$. Shipping charge would just be actual shipping. I'll split the paypal fee with you, or paypal me as a gift if you're comfortable with that for this amount. I could also meet at Trexlertown Swap for a nominal delivery fee (I would have to rent a car).
Oh and not looking to part out at this time, at least not for significantly less $.

For sale is a 1972 Schwinn Paramount Track / Pista bike, serial # C7295. The frame measures 57 cm square and is constructed of Reynolds 531 tubing. The fork ends and track ends are both Campagnolo. The serial # on the fork matches the frame. The frame was repainted in September 2010 by Allan Wanta in California and he did an incredible job. Paint is a pearl white with a very subtle sparkle, with dark red outlining on the Nervex lugs. The components are a mostly complete vintage Suntour Superbe Pro track group.

-The fork is the matching original fork and is drilled for a front brake as it came to me, and I believe as it came when sold new. It has not seen a front brake though since the repaint, or since I've owned it.
-Wheelset is Suntour Superbe Pro in very very good condition laced to 32 hole Velo Orange high polish PBP rims w/ double butted spokes. I laced them and they have stayed and still are true. The hubs spin for at least six days if you so much as look at them the wrong way. The bearings are smooooothe. Tires are Panaracer Pasela Tourguard. The rear has a skid patch thats worn down so should be replaced. I figure the new owner will replace these tires with something racier (Veloflex tires are great on there but were not great for nyc streets) so have not replaced the rear tire. It does hold air fine, but it should be replaced.
-Cranks are Suntour Superbe Pro in good condition, but with typical wear/scratches from use. Mechanically perfect, but aesthetically not as perfect as the frame/wheels.
-Bottom bracket is a Phil Wood. Buttery smooth.
-Chainring is a matching Suntour Superbe Pro 49t in good condition
-Cog is a EAI Superstar 17t, shiny polished steel.
-Pedals are Suntour Sprint in similar condition to the cranks. The clips are MKS and the straps are NJS white Toshi straps.
-Chain is a Pearl Izumi eco chain. 1/8"
-Stem is Nitto Pearl NJS
-Handlebars are Nitto steel NJS.
-Handlebar tape is a layer of innertube (for padding) under Red Tressostar cotton tape shellaced.
-Seatpost is Suntour Superbe Pro in similar condition to the cranks.
-Saddle is Brooks Swift in very good condition.
-Headset is Chris King gripnut silver in perfect condition.

I purchased this bike in 2009 from a fellow in the midwest. It came in the original green paint which you can see in one of the photos below. I had it built up and rode it around and once I pieced together all the Suntour components, I sent it off to be repainted and re-decaled by Allan Wanta knowing that he had experience with Paramounts. I then built it up, and as the story usually goes, I couldn't stand to lock it up around the city so it's been used just as a nice Sunday bike. I did ride it and it rides beautifully but the paint is still in impeccable condition. I probably took it on a 50 mile ride once a month or so in the warmer months over the two years I've had it since. It never saw rain or snow or salty roads. The paint shines and sparkles in the light. I found one tiny imperfection on the underside of the top tube, shown in a photograph below. It's a nick in the paint from a tool hitting the frame, and is only a nick, no dent. There are no dents in the frame whatsoever.

I think that covers it but if there any questions, please ask (please don't waste my time though, Craigslist). This is a classic, handmade in Chicago, American racing bike. It is not priced cheap and I have no problem paying my rent, so no, I will not accept an offer of 600$. If I don't sell it here locally, I will go to ebay before going down much in price. Trades are not likely to be of interest. I have several other bikes I'm very happy with. It would have to be a special touring bike (in 57 cm) to make me interested. I would consider a trade for a full frame sensor Nikon digital SLR. Maybe a McIntosh stereo setup/speakers.
Available for view in Crown Heights weeknights and weekends. I would consider shipping at the buyer's expense with paypal payment. If by chance it works out, it could also be arranged to hand deliver the bike to the Trexlertown Velodrome swap October 6th.

would you be able to get more on ebay? i sold my nagasawa on ebay and got someone in california to pay more than i would have gotten locally (nyc)....

shipping is a pain, and expensive, but carefully done, with proper insurance, its fine. if you do ship, get some estimates before quoting....the costs of shipping bikes has gone way up.

your price is very fair, and hopefully a forum member will take you up on it. the cog in the rear alone is worth almost $100 (!) . the rear cog is one of the little secrets to riding a fixie silently...the chain makes almost no noise on the smooth polished teeth.
