The thing about Firefly to me is that, even if some of the bikes are not to my taste (and those instances are rare), their output is a testament to their virtuosity. The breadth of their capabilities and talent (from a design and manufacturing perspective as well as an aesthetic one) is extraordinary, and they are constantly pushing the envelope of what is possible.

I agree that it is fascinating to dig through the archives (on their website, instagram, flickr, tumblr, in the gallery here, etc.) to see the evolution not only of their designs but also of their treatment of the bicycle frame as a canvas.

This one's not bad though.
I agree, I find bulky carbon stems on slim round tubes, very aesthetically awkward. For examples, if you visit the Speedvagan flickr page you will see nearly every skinny steel tube frame topped with a huge Enve stem. IMO, a small diameter Ritchey or Dead Superleggero stem looks much nicer. Albeit, the bulky carbon stems do look good on the fatter carbon tube bikes.

P.S. the taped fork/headtube on this Firefly is beautiful!

Couldn't have said it better myself.

i have a love affair with the deda superleggera stems. one of these days, i'll probably regret not getting the FF stem though, ano'd to match.

That Bishop setup is clean. Very good build; props to whoever owns that ride.

Sheesh, two pages of bike photos and not a single garage door included in any photo??

It ain't bike porn without the obligatory garage door holdin' the bike up.
