I just ordered a set of Spyers that I'm planning on using with Campy 10 ergos. What's the problem with Campy as compared to Shimano?

Campy levers don't have as much cable pull as Shimano.

The alleged shorter throw compared to Shimano can be solved by either running pads closer to rotor (TRP Spyre calibration is really easy and effective) or you can pull the clamp where you attach the cable a bit while setting up your brake. It works totally fine. Some people might tell you to use compressionless housing. Its ok but definitely not needed. If you don't have internal cabe routing in your frame and/or handlebar go for it. If you do have internal routing i would avoid compressionless at all cost. Compressionless housing doesn't work when you have tight bends (either at handlebar or when routing brake housing through bottom bracket) and will inhibit spring from effectively release braking pads when completing a brake. Normal housing works totally fine. Last, TRP stock rotors and brake pads are atrocious. Thats the only upgrade needed. You can get a set of SwissStop sintered pads (model D15S) and you can immediately notice the difference. Good luck! |

If you are going to do the 11-40+ type cogset, may need the longer rear der hanger thing. Short cage and one-by....32/34t easy.
