For me, I like having an environment that is fun to be in also. I built up a "paincave" in my garage (Wife isn't happy that I took over our entire 3rd garage bay lol). Having a clean space that is free from a bunch of clutter, all my stuff is accessible and easy to see can help make the experience more enjoyable. Rather than be forced into the corner of some room with cables crossing all over and no room to be comfortable. Obviously we all have different living situations with some having more room that others, but if you can organize some dedicated space for a training area, in my experience it can help keep you wanting to come back for more.

And BTW...that Vornado fan is fantastic! Got it on ebay brand new for $75

Here is my humble little set up:

This is what I do. One smart plug, three fans turn on at once when I'm ready (usually about 10min into the workout). I can also turn up/dim the lights if I want. So easy.

No need for a bike computer for me. I let the Zwift program track everything for me and have it upload the data to Strava when the ride is done.

Thanks man! It has been fun to put this space together and it really makes it more fun to be in. I use the companion app on my phone.

I made a nice little mount so I can use it easily on my stem mount for my garmin. Cheap phone case and the mount was like $10 on amazon

That "platform" for the InsideRide rollers is absolutely pure genius!
Is is constructed out of 4x4 posts and sheets of 3/4" plywood painted black?

Thanks! I had my buddy help me build it and when I say "Help" me, I mean I handed him the screws and took photos I would have cut off my leg if I would have attempted to build this myself hahaha!

Here are some shots:

Cross posting since we're doing a lot of Zwift talk here.

If you want to have some extended challenges check out www.zwiftchallenge.com
The site keeps track of which of the most challenging courses you've ridden. When you get a PR you get bonus points so it's all about personal growth not racing others. Routes typically are 1:30 or longer. The 4 Horsemen will take closer to 3:30 or more depending on pace.

I only have one course left, the PRL Full length on London. It's 107 miles and over 7k of elevation!
