DT Swiss hub end cap swapping

Have a wheelset with Bontrager (DT 240) hubs that are presently 135 wide. I want to replace the non-drive side end cap to get 130, which are readily available. Do I also need to replace the non-drive side end cap? The one presently there says "road". Thanks in advance. -Jeff N.

Just the left (NDS) cap sir. The fhb side is the same for both 130 and 135.

I've heard from some sources this may not be necessary. I just ordered the 130 end cap so we'll see...I definitely will have it re-dished if it sits off-center.

I know you can swap back & forth between Shimano & Campy freehubs without redishing, but I'm not sure how you'd avoid redishing if you're respacing the width by changing the end-cap on only one side.

Seems bizarre to me that they sell end caps as pairs, but don't size them to maintain dishing.

Cassette would be too far inboard and you'll get a less evenly tensioned wheel compared to adding to one side and dishing it.
