wow the cost for home care get expensive fast

wow the cost for home care get expensive fast
My wife parents needed 24 / 7 care
So she got two people 7 12 and 12 to 7 $18 hr
So 12 x 18 equals $216 a day than x 7 days equals $1,512 x 52 week equals $76,624.00
And evenings aren't covered
So Carolyn or another relative had to sleep over every nite
Than SS should also be paid on wages
Wow
And when at home and person falls how do you get them up
Not easy i tried it once with a man over 200 lbs
Just got got him up
Also anyone at the home needs to recognize serious health problems and call 911

Side note: It's nice to work for an organization where communities of interest (religious, LGBTQ, ethnicity, aging, etc) can openly talk about issues on distribution lists. It's in line with a strong focus on DEI...
I think Genworth is one of the "original" LTC insurance providers, so they have been in business awhile, but have probably also written a lot of "generous" policies in the early days, which may come back to haunt them. Additionally to their financial stability, they might also need to increase rates on newer policies more frequently to cover older policies.
