Can anyone recommend some gravel rims?

Hey, so for no reason whatsoever I have decided I need to build a new set of wheels for my gravel bike. I have a set of 28 hole DT 240s hubs, now I need to find some rims. Disc brakes, 700x~50 tires. Rim shopping is overwhelming. Anybody have recommendations?

HED Belgium G, formerly known as the Eroica. I’m having a wheel set built with them for my new bike. 25mm inner width, thick lip to strengthen the rim for impacts, pretty light and well priced.

Velocity Aileron, is worth a look. I have a pair of 32h built up with bitex hubs by Old Potato and they are reasonably light and have been bombproof.

Is it worth looking at the cheap carbon rims? It looks like they can be had for prices similar to the HED rims.

Are those Aileron rims discounted at all, I near spit my martoonie onto the lap top when I saw how close to the HED Belgium G price upon a google seek. I never paid more than 55.00 for a Velocity rim. One can guess I've not bought any for a while.

for 50mm tires, you're gonna want some wide rims... Assuming you're gonna be running tubeless. there are lots of wheel options, less so for just rims.

Falcon Pro from Light Bicycle

I have a few hundred miles on Falcon Pro WR38 rims laced to DT Swiss 350s. Everyone on this forum that I connected with recommended LB wheels/rims and they are pretty impressive.

Available hookless or hooked with inner width of 25mm. I chose the undrilled rim bed and setting up tubeless 38c gravel tires was hassle free with a floor pump.

They may even build the wheels with your hubs?

Wi

Haven’t ridden these yet, but have been impressed with other WI product’s quality (hubs, cranks)

Worth a look. MSRP - $145/rim

based on how good my Easton R90SL rims are in rim-brake edition, i note that they also come in a disc brake configuration, and i would highly recommend these as a good option!

I recently put together a spreadsheet of about 70 "gravel-ish" rims.
Includes width (inner & outer), weight, and depth where I could find them.
Not comprehensive, but it might help your quest.
It's sorted by depth right now- for aero-ness ;p
